Tech Dump, a division of Jobs Foundation, is a growing 501(c)(3) social enterprise providing job training and practical experience for adults facing barriers to employment to prepare them to be more valuable employees with an expanding future. We accomplish this through recycling (Tech Dump) and refurbishing (Tech Discounts) electronics at two locations in the Twin Cities.
The Plant Manager will provide manufacturing leadership and excellence to deliver a safe and impactful operation. They will lead, motivate, and develop team leads and employees to achieve outstanding performance results, improve current practices and individual skills, and to enhance teamwork. They will serve as a member of the leadership team to establish strategies and achieve goals. They will work in collaboration with other leaders in support of broader organizational initiatives.
This position includes the safe and orderly receiving, processing and shipment of materials through the facility, as well as the processing of equipment. This role includes coordination of shipping of materials to offsite purchasers, driving facility efficiencies, assisting in securing new business, and analyzing business models.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Accountability of recycling department and facility for P&L, safety, and environmental duties (75% of time):
Maintain a facility that meets federal, state, local, and Tech Dump safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs (inc. R2, OSHA, MPCA, etc.).
Provide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure both the recycling department and facility meet and/or exceed goals in success areas (safety, cost, customer service, health/safety/environment, etc.).
Provide business leadership that demonstrates commitment to department and goals on a day-to-day basis while providing operational oversight to ensure smooth operations of the facility.
Analyze production reports with KPIs in a timely manner to track department progress.
Help improve daily operations by providing ongoing assessments of current processes and procedures and making recommendations to changes in process and procedures.
Ensure materials are stored as expected and organized for smooth material flow.
Ensure all materials are properly documented in our ERP system.
Act as a representative for Tech Dump in working with vendors and outside partners, providing leadership on projects as assigned.
Hiring and employee development (15% of time):
The lawful execution of recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and terminations, working with the Training Manager to ensure participants are set up for positive results.
Educate, develop, and motivate staff to achieve outstanding production and safety results.
Ensure positive employee relations are maintained between management and employees.
Advance equity and inclusion efforts, including preparing work readiness employees to step into more responsibility.
Establishing a culture of safety, inclusion, teamwork, and continuous improvement (10% of time):
Create a positive, team-oriented environment through employee development, engagement, and motivation. Lead by example with key emphasis on training, educating, and developing staff.
Work as part of an organizational team to identify and address areas of potential improvements with respect to materials and commodities generated to meet specifications and extract maximum values.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong leadership skills including ability to implement change, influence business strategies, and resolve conflict.
Proven ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives.
Ability to communicate, motivate, and aid in the professional development of diverse populations of adults.
Previous leadership experience, skills, or training in working with adults with barriers to employment.
Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change.
Drug free, with pre-employment and monthly drug testing. Ability to maintain tact and confidentiality.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tasks, processes, and projects.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
Working knowledge of manufacturing environment safety and training programs.

Physical requirements:
Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Work environment is noisy and dusty.
Frequent standing, walking, and sitting through the day.
Frequent use of computers and phones (Microsoft Office, ERP System, and email skills are a must).
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Lived experience and expertise of the challenges of re-entering our community after incarceration and/or a recovery program.
Lived experience in overcoming barriers to employment.
Certified forklift operator and/or instructor.
Experience in Recycling, Logistics, or Manufacturing.
ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:
Pay Range: $62,500 - $67,500
Classification: Non-exempt, according to FLSA guidelines.
Vaccination Requirement: Must be fully vaccinated or have completed your 1st dose prior to your start date.

Physical Requirements: The warehouse environment includes regular standing, walking, sitting at desk, use of PC, and occasional lifting.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position. Core business hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Other: This position may include occasional travel within the Twin Cities metro area for meetings at several locations. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be necessary.
