POSITION FILLED - Project Coordinator - Construction

Tusk Builders is a growing family business focused on residential remodeling in the Twin Cities.  We are a small team of three - husband/wife owners and currently one general labor employee.  We have a passion for old homes and are skilled at meeting where our clients are at to create custom solutions for their homes.  In the next year we expect to complete 10 - 12 projects ranging from bathrooms to whole home renovations.

Project Coordinator

Works directly with owners to ensure site-specific remodeling timelines are delivered.  The project coordinator will be part of a fast-paced, growing family business.  During any project, the coordinator will interface with trades, sub-contractors, inspectors, employees and clients.  

Job Duties | Responsibilities

  • Supports project execution at all phases of a project from client intake to design, pre-construction, construction and closure

  • Prepares project timelines and to-dos in BuilderTrend

  • Supports General contractor with site specific tasks

  • Site preparation and set up - ensures all necessary materials and supplies are on the job site in advance, including delivery inspection and tracking and procuring needed materials from local retailers

  • Schedule trades and inspections

  • Be onsite for inspections

  • Set agendas and take notes for site meetings with clients

  • Monitor and report project progress to timelines and budget, highlighting risks and issues to owners

  • Ability to communicate effectively with trades, subs, and inspectors

  • Ability to prepare and track project timelines and budgets

  • Flexibility to work and develop standard routines, yet operate in a business where every day looks different

  • Self-starter able to understand what needs to be done and deliver updates/raise issues in a productive manner

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Construction experience or education - must be able to read floor plans, understand building materials, methods and procedures

  • Familiarity with remodeling quality craftsmanship, industry health and safety standards

  • Team player, eager and excited to work with a growing small family business

  • Offers a differentiated skillset from the team - for example: has worked in the trades, is proficient in drafting

  • Local to Twin Cities, not a remote role, must be able to travel to job sites

  • Experience with construction or PM software/systems

Skills | Capabilities - Preferred

  • Leadership abilities or interest in learning how to run a business - potential to develop and grow this person into a project or general manager

  • Passion for home remodeling business 

  • Experience using BuilderTrend

  • Speaks some Spanish
